Produced by local music instructor, Jeri Mercer, Sunday @ 3 is designed as a program to allow young, semi professional artists to perform work showcasing the advancement of their skills. “We hope to apply the talent slowly acquired alone, in the practice room, to the real world of the community, a live audience who will respond and encourage these young people,” says Mercer. The concert will feature a performance by Maria and Ema Horja, two young daughters of WWU Piano Professor Milica Jovanovic. They are frequent performers in the area, playing both solos and duets. Maria has an extensive list of pieces and has already presented full length programs at ten years of age. Also included in this concert are pianists Jacinda David, Sarah Potocki,Oscar Robindell, Yilang Zhou; violinist Martina Yupangco; musical theatre performers Joshua Zaharia and Christina Kennedy; blues vocalist Ellie Seaman; and the Squalicum HIgh School Choir. Sunday @ 3 is a family friendly concert series, and students and families are encouraged to attend. Admission to Sunday @ 3 is by donation. All donations help the Jansen Art Center continue its youth programs such as Sunday @ 3 and Kids Do Art! Spring Break Workshops (coming April 3-5).
