The Jansen Art Center invites the community to our annual Kids Do Art! Fall Open House. This FREE event takes place on September 9, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Visitors can tour the art studios, participate in hands-on activities, enjoy a puppet and clown show, see the new fall exhibits and learn about the J’s Fall Programs for kids, teens and adults. The Jansen Art Center has six creative art studios: Ceramics, Dance, Fine Art & Painting, Jewelry, Music and Textiles. All of the studios within the Jansen Art Center will be open during the event, with instructors and representatives of each studio available to answer any questions about upcoming programs. There will be hands-on activities happening throughout the building. Stop into the Painting Studio to help paint a mural, experiment with clay in the Ceramic Studio, sample a music class and more! Visit all of the studios to complete your passport and you could be entered into a drawing for prizes. Enjoy a special performance from 12:30 PM - 1:00 PM with local puppeteer and clown, Andy Koch. Andy’s popular performances are engaging and entertaining kids of all ages. There are over 70 classes being offered at the J this fall. Many of our popular classes are returning this fall such as Children’s Musical Theater, ballet with the Northwest Ballet Academy, Beginning Weaving, Intro to Jewelry, Watercolors with Northwest Themes, and Intro to Pottery. The J is also looking forward to the addition of some new classes like Preschool Music, Beginning Wheel Throwing (for ages 10-16) and Observational Oil Painting.
